Sorry for the delay... my blog has been acting wierd lately !!

Venelles and Calanques

(side : i hope i got those spellings right)

So it's been a while since i've written, and it's about time i wrote, considering what i'm about to write occurred almost 4 weeks back !

Exhausted as i was after my Greece trip, Louis and Caro tricked me (to put it mildly), into going down to the south of France for the weekend, 11-13th May, to Caro's parents' place. A place called Venelles, not very far from Aix-en-Provence, a bit further away from Marseille. We drove down on Friday evening, a nice picturesque drive of 2.5 hrs... And a hefty fine of 90 euros for speeding at 130 kmph. (No, not me... Louis!)

Saturday saw me getting tricked over and over again. The day started with the proposition of a nice hike in the hills, around the bay area where you could see Marseille on one side and the Mediterranean on the other... the nice hike turned out to be a gruelling 6 hour trek, during which i was further tricked into descending down a steep "cliff", with the prospect of a nice beach below. Well... it was worth it !

The day ended with tired legs, a bent back and lots of sweat !

Sunday was more peaceful, except for the wind on the beach. Caro did some windsurfing, and i was more than glad to be a spectator to something new, especially since it meant i didnt move my already battered body.

All in all a good weekend. We drove back to Grenoble on sunday evening, watching the speed limit all the time !

Oh, the days are getting longer and longer in Europe. That's something i haven't mentioned yet in my blog so far. It gets dark only by 9:30 pm. When you want to go out and have fun, it's nice... when you want to sleep, it sucks !
